The Police and Community Relations Council for Precinct 6, which includes Towson, will meet tonight at 7 p.m. at the police department's Hillendale Resource Center, at 1055 Taylor Avenue.
Towson precinct commander Capt. Jay Landsman Jr. will talk with residents about crime in the area, said Wesley Wood, director of the Precinct 6 council.
People also will be able to ask questions about crime, Wood said.
In addition to a discussion with local police, a representative from Baltimore Gas and Electric will be on hand to discuss how to conserve energy, and well as how to obtain payment assistance with energy bills for those in need.
The representative will also discuss public safety concerns with the group, Wood said, such as how to handle a person who approaches your door posing as a Baltimore Gas and Electric employee.
Tonight's meeting is one of the council's monthly meetings. The group meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month.
