Memorial Day events in Towson

Last year, Cpl. John Blunt of the Eldridge Young Marines showed Girl Scouts Louisa Cheek, 7, of Timonium, Serendipity Chamberlain, 10, of Cockeysville, and Keira Nelson, 8, of Cockeysville, the proper way to place flags at veterans' graves in Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens. The event was a training session to prepare the scouts for Memorial Day 2015, when they placed flags on graves in the cemetery. The Scouts will return to the cemetery Saturday to place flags on veterans' graves in honor of this year's Memorial Day, an event that is one of several taking place in the Towson area to mark the day.
