Strike up the bands

Nine Baltimore County schools, including Towson High, Dulaney High, and Loch Raven High, sent marching bands to the county's 26th Annual Marching Band Showcase on Sunday at Johnny Unitas Stadium at Towson University.

The event served as an opportunity for the county's various marching bands to gather at the same place and enjoy each other's routines in a non-competitive environment.

While the bands typically perform as a complement to their football teams during halftime, the showcase was an opportunity for the bands to take center stage as the main attraction.

A day earlier, the best bands from around the region competed at Towson University for a spot in the national championships in Music for All's Bands of America Regional Championship.
