“We had a chance to win it, but we threw an interception on our last drive,” Loyola coach Brant Hall said.
Hull said the Dons’ defense will focus on stopping quarterback Zach Abey, who has led the Cavaliers to a 3-1 start.
He has thrown six touchdown passes and run for five more.
“That quarterback is one tough kid and he makes that team go,” Hall explained. “You want to contain the big-play guy.”
Loyola is coming off a 24-21 victory over North Harford.
Junior quarterback Ben Evans rushed for 108 yards on 20 carries and running back Damon Hazelton had 97 yards on 16 attempts against the Hawks.
“Last week was the best our offensive line has played,” Hall said of a line anchored by junior Tyler Covey and his senior counterpart at guard, Jack Kenny.
