Timonium Fairgrounds, Gilroy Road Light Rail stops to close for track maintenance

The Timonium Fairgrounds and Gilroy Road light-rail stops will be closed intermittently over the next month for scheduled maintenance, according to the Maryland Transit Administration.

The closures will allow for track maintenance as well as improvements to the pedestrian walkways, according to a news release.

The Timonium Fairgrounds stop will close between 8 p.m. Friday and 4 a.m. Tuesday on March 15 to 19 and March 22 to 26.

The Gilroy Road stop in Hunt Valley will close between 8 p.m. Friday and 4 a.m. Monday on March 29 to April 1 and April 5 to 8.

The transit administration will provide buses to transport passengers at the Timonium Fairgrounds and Gilroy Road stops during the closures, the news release said.

“There also will be: signage at each stop; transit ambassadors to help passengers plan their route; and updates via social media, the MDOT MTA website and e-alert notification system,” the release said.
