Drastic rezoning for Aylesbury project 'inappropriate' [Letter]

I certainly agree with Greater Timonium Community Council President Eric Rockel and the GTCCA that rezoning land from manufacturing/light and industrial/major along Aylesbury Road for apartment construction is "not a good fit" ("727-unit apartment complex proposed for Aylesbury Road," Nov. 5). I recall 50 years ago as neighborhoods fought the county's rezoning of residential land for commercial uses; now we are confronted with the opposite situation. Such drastic rezoning through the PUD process seems inappropriate.

Whatever has happened to the CZMP process and actual land use planning for the future in a rational manner?
