I was hoping that Towson University under the stewardship of TU President Maravene Loeschke, would continue to support a policy that fosters a spirit of community cooperation. Under the former president, great strides were made in that direction. Apparently, this policy has gone awry under President Loeschke.

President Loeschke is supporting a project to expand the Woman's Softball Field that borders the backyards of dozens of homeowners along Stanmore Road in Rodgers Forge. The project includes stadium like lighting, enhanced sound systems, bleachers and a food concession all within 50 feet of our community.

While there are viable alternative sites for this expansion President Loeschke, unlike the former president, has refused to meet directly with the Rodgers Forge Committee to resolve this encroachment to our community. Instead she has charged several non-decision making staff members with the responsibility of placating homeowners.

It's time to ask our political leaders for their assistance. Councilman David Marks, Dels. Steve Lafferty and Susan Aumann and State Sen. James Brochin have interceded on our behalf before. If we ask them, they will again. Please contact them now.
