Road closures to be in effect for Hunt Cup

Baltimore County police are advising the public not to use certain roads during Saturday's Maryland Hunt Cup Steeplechase.

Roads in the Worthington Valley area will be most affected. Beginning at 2 p.m., eastbound traffic will be diverted on Tufton Avenue onto southbound Dover Road. Westbound traffic on Tufton Avenue will be stopped for pedestrians as needed to allow race-goers to safely cross Tufton on foot.

During the race from 3 to 6 p.m., the following roads will be closed.

• Worthington Avenue and Tufton Avenue

• Belmont Avenue and Butler Road

• Mantua Mill Road and Geist Road

• Tufton Avenue and Falls Road

• Dover Road and Tufton Ridge Road

No Parking signs will be posted the night before the race, police said. Parking regulations will be strictly enforced.
