Towson crime log: Armed man in Obama mask confronts group

A Baltimore County Police report said a man armed with a gun and wearing Barack Obama mask confronted five people in alley last week near Towson and told them to empty their pockets.

The incident occurred in the 1100 block of Halstead Road at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 10, according to the police report.


When confronted by the man, one of the victims screamed, and the man fled.

Valewood Road, 1100 block, between 11 p.m. Oct. 12 and 12:01 a.m. Oct. 13. Two screens removed from front windows. No entry gained.

Lambourne Road, unit block, between 8:30 p.m. Sept. 16 and 6:30 p.m. Oct. 12. Shoes, toys, clothing and car seat stolen from storage unit.

Aigburth Road and Donnybrook Road, at 1:10 a.m. Oct. 11. Three armed men stole backpacks, cell phones, and wallets from walkers.

Limit Avenue, 1200 block, on Oct. 9, no time indicated. Burglar entered through kitchen window, smashed glass wall clock.

Fairmount Avenue, 900 block, between 9:33 a.m. Oct. 9. Police say a woman took a wreath from a door, and it was found down the street. The woman told officers she took wreath to give officer a better holiday.

Falkirk Road, 6400 block, between 11:10 a.m. and 11:50 a.m. Oct. 9. Two Panasonic televisions, Nintendo Wii, Playstation 3, and games stolen from location. Entry gained through front window.

Goucher Boulevard at Putty Hill Avenue, at 8 p.m. Oct. 8. An iPhone 4 was stolen from man's hand. Police arrested a juvenile, but did not recover phone.

West Joppa Road, 2300 block, between 8 p.m. Oct. 8 and 9:30 p.m. Oct. 9. Three fire extinguishers emptied State Highway Administration.

Racquet Road, 1300 block, at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 7. Two 25-foot coils of high-volt electric wire stolen from Electrico.


Cotesville Circle, 900 block, between 8 a.m. Oct. 11 and 5 p.m. Oct. 14. Jewelry stolen. Means of entry unknown.


York Road, 10700 block, between 4:40 p.m. Oct. 5 and 12:15 p.m. Oct. 8. Eight scrap Mercedes Benz wheels and tires stolen from Hunt Valley Imported Auto Service. Entry by unknown means into fenced lot.


East Padonia Road, 200 block, between 4 and 4:09 p.m. Oct. 13. A man was hit with a stick and injured when he tried to stop a fight between a juvenile and an 18-year old. Police arrested Danzig Borrego, 18, of Cockeysville, and charged him with second-degree assault.

Belmore Road, 100 block, between 3 p.m. Oct. 12 and 12:10 a.m. Oct. 13. Cash, collectible coins, antique watches, passports and flat screen television stolen. Entry through rear unlocked window.

Greenspring Drive, 1900 block, between 6 and 9:30 p.m. Oct. 8. Front passenger side windows on five vehicles broken.
