Towson Crime Log: Copper construction materials stolen at Calvert Hall

A Baltimore County Police report says that some $4,300 in construction materials were stolen last week from a building site at Calvert Hall College High School in Towson.

According to the police report, the incident occurred at the school, in the 8100 block of LaSalle Road, between 5 p.m. July 30 and 5:45 a.m. July 31.


Someone broke through a plywood construction door at the school, and took $4,300 worth of copper materials, the report said.

In addition to that incident, the following items were compiled from police reports from the Towson and Cockeysville precincts. Our policy is to include descriptions when there is enough information to make identification possible.



Wentworth Avenue, 1700 block, 2:36 a.m., Aug. 5. Resident woke up to find four men trying to break into shed. Men fled when resident confronted them.

York Road, 6300 block, 5:50 a.m., Aug. 3. A hammer was used to break the window of Radio Shack. Thieves attempted to steal cell phones from stock room, but were unsuccessful.

Donachie Road, 6900 block, 1:16 a.m., Aug. 1. Two men approached man and woman behind location, pointed black semi-automatic handgun at them, and ordered them to lay on ground. Men stole iPhone 4, Droid cell phone and debit card.

Taylor Avenue, 1000 block, 10:14 p.m., Aug. 1. Three men knocked a man to ground, dragged him across sidewalk an stole a wallet and phone. Assailants fled on foot. Wallet was later recovered.

Dulaney Valley Road, 800 block, 4:50 p.m., July 31. Four men approached couple sitting on steps outside Towson Town Center mall. One man grabbed man's iPhone, while another took the woman's purse. The thieves fled south on Dulaney Valley Road.

Walker Avenue, 600 block, 11:10 p.m. July 30. A window screen was cut and a purse stolen. A juvenile was apprehended in the area in connection to the incident, but police believe another person was also involved.

York Road, 800 block, at 4:25 p.m. July 31. Two men stole iPhone from woman while she waited in line to make purchase at Exxon gas station. Man grabbed woman's phone from her left hand, both men fled on foot.

North Charles Street, 6500 block, between 3:30 p.m. July 27 and 7 a.m. July 30. Aluminum panels and adjustable steel struts stolen from construction site at Sheppard Pratt.

Ruxlea Court, unit block, between 2 p.m. July 23 and 6 p.m. Aug. 1. Stihl backpack leaf blower stolen from unlocked shed.


Warren Road, unit block, between 10 a.m. and 10:10 a.m. Aug. 3. A man approached a woman from behind and stole her purse that contained cash, credit cards and Oxycodone.



Valley Crossing Circle, unit block, between 8:10 a.m. and 8:26 a.m. July 30. A resident was attacked in her home. The woman told police that a black female wearing a red headband with black pants, black top and carrying a black tote bag entered her unlocked front door and attacked her. The assailant took the homeowner's purse, which contained cell phone and credit cards.

Rothwell Drive, 200 block, at 1 p.m. Aug. 1. A resident was robbed after letting two men into the house after they claimed to be landscapers. According to the police report, one man took the resident to windows at the rear of the house to look at the backyard while the other went to an upstairs bedroom and stole cash and jewelry.
