Rental car abandoned because of flooding reported stolen [Towson crime log]

The following is compiled from police reports from the Towson and Cockeysville precincts. Our policy is to include descriptions when there is enough information to make identification possible.



Litchfield Road, 800 block, between 6 p.m. June 23, and 7:30 a.m. June 24. A juvenile and another man were arrested and charged with fourth-degree burglary for the theft of a bicycle. A laptop stolen from a vehicle at another address on this street was also located and returned to owner. Same suspects were also implicated in the theft of coins stolen from vehicle in 6900 block of Banbury Road.

Ruxton and Circle Roads, between 7 p.m. June 23, and 6:30 a.m. June 24. A rental car abandoned because of flooding at this location was reported stolen.


Chestnut Glen Green, 800 block, 5 a.m. June 24. Attempted break-in through second-floor window was unsuccessful.

Wellington Road, 900 block, between 2:30 p.m. June 20 and 5 p.m. June 23. Padlock cut off shed; lawn equipment stolen.

Hopkins Road, 300 block, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. June 23. Mountain bike stolen from yard.

McManus Way, 500 block, between 8 a.m. June 19 and 4:30 p.m. June 22. Jewelry and electronic equipment stolen; no sign of forced entry.

Loch Raven Boulevard, 8400 block, between 7 p.m. June 21, and 7:16 a.m. June 22. Car, possibly unlocked, stolen; victim said spare key kept inside vehicle.

Cromwell Bridge Road, 1200 block, 11:45 p.m. June 19. Two victims assaulted and robbed of money, keys and cell phone at Best Western Hotel on Loch Raven Boulevard. Approximately 15 males, including several juveniles confronted victims as they left hotel and stole items before fleeing on foot.

Burke Avenue, 200 block, between midnight and 7:30 a.m. June 20. Intruder forced screen off open window and entered, stealing computer tablet and cellphone.


Cormer Court, unit block, between 6 p.m. June 19, and 5:35 p.m. June 21. Apartment door pried open. Apartment ransacked and game system, TV, jewelry, cash and miscellaneous items were stolen.

York Road, 1600 block, 2 p.m. June 17. Man who implied he had a gun demanded money and lottery tickets at BP gas station. Complainant stopped man from grabbing money and would-be robber ran away.


Boxmere Road, 2200 block, between 8 p.m. June 18 and 5:30 a.m. June 19. Vehicle stolen from yard.



Queensbridge Court, unit block, between 6 and 6:30 p.m. June 20. Cash, credit card and personal identity item stolen from pouch in car. Vehicle left unlocked with pouch in plain view.

Falls Road, 12000 block, between 6 a.m. April 1 and 4 p.m. April 30. Mink coat stolen from house; report filed June 19.
