An 11-year-old boy and Baltimore County police officer are being treated for injuries after a Perry Hall man attacked the boy with a “sharp force” object Tuesday morning and fought with arriving officers, police said.
Baltimore County police were called to the 4200 block of Maple Path Circle at 10:28 a.m. after a neighbor called to report a domestic related assault, police spokeswoman Jennifer Peach said.
The boy ran to a neighbor’s house seeking help after his father struck him with an object that caused a puncture wound to his upper body, police said.
The so-far-unidentified man fought with arriving officers, causing a non-life threatening injury to one officer, who was transported to an area hospital, Peach said.
The 11-year-old was also taken to a hospital, and his condition is unknown, police said.
The suspect is in custody and formal charges are pending, Peach said. Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
