Racist grafitti found, teen arrested in attempted carjacking: Towson and Cockeysville area crime log

A 14-year-old boy was arrested and charged as a juvenile after an armed robbery in late January, the Baltimore County Police Department said.

The teen was one of three male suspects who approached two women parked in the 800 block of Stoneleigh Road in Towson around 6:15 p.m. on Jan. 24. One of the suspects displaying a handgun and the three allegedly demanded the car and the women’s possessions, police said. The passenger, 20, and the driver, 73, were both struck and injured, police said.

The same 14-year-old charged in the robbery has been linked to an armed carjacking that occurred in the 4300 block of Kolb Avenue on Jan. 26, but has not been charged yet in that incident, police said. Officer Jennifer Peach, a police spokeswoman, said charges were pending.

A 15-year-old boy has been charged in that Jan. 26 carjacking, also as a juvenile. Peach said that because the boys are facing felony charges and a handgun was involved, it is possible they will be charged as adults.

Police in February also responded to a report of racist graffiti at Orchard Hills Park in Lutherville-Timonium. Graffiti was found on bleachers and a shed by a baseball field.

The graffiti, drawn in blue and black spray paint, according to police documents, included the drawing of male genitalia, and various phrases using explicit language and racial slurs. Police said no further action related to the incident will be conducted at a patrol level.
