Another two Towson University students were robbed at gunpoint early Sunday morning, Baltimore County police said, the latest in a string of such muggings this month.
The two victims had been walking in the 1300 block of Hillsway Court to a friend's home around 12:45 a.m. when three men walked up with a handgun, police said in a news release. The suspects took cash from the students' pockets and ran off toward Taylor Avenue, the release said. No one was hurt.
Police and K-9 units searched the area unsucessfully. Anyone with information relating to this incident is asked to call police at 410-307-2020.
The Towson precinct saw five street robberies in the first week of November, including one in which a Towson student was stabbed several times and seriously injured. Police had recently stepped up patrols in the area.
Then, last week, Baltimore County officials announced arrests of three suspects they said could be responsible for "at least a dozen robberies."
