After four and a half months of repairs, the Warren Road Bridge over Loch Raven Reservoir in Cockeysville will reopen today in time for evening commuters, the Baltimore City Department of Transportation said in a media release Aug. 8.
In March an inspection revealed defects in several of the bridge's supports, and the structure was deemed unsafe, according to the city's Department of Public Works. The bridge was closed March 23 for emergency repairs.
Baltimore City said that work was completed ahead of schedule; the original completion estimate was mid-August.
The city owns and manages the bridge, which spans Loch Raven Reservoir in Baltimore County, a major source of drinking water for city residents.
In the release the city's acting Department of Transportation Director Frank Murphy thanked residents, businesses and motorists for their patience during construction.
