Birders make their way to Cromwell Valley Park Saturday mornings in September, for the Hawk Watch, held during the fall migration every year.
Hot weather mid-week kept the migrating birds out of the air mid-week by Saturday the temperatures had cooled down and the birds were on the wing again.
Jim Meyers, a volunteer at Cromwell Valley, leads weekly bird walks and keeps the official count of hawks passing through.
