One arrested in Cockeysville bank robbery, police said

One of two men Baltimore County Police said robbed a 1st Mariner Bank in Cockeysville was arrested Friday shortly after the robbery, according to a police report.

According to police, two men entered the bank in the 9800 block of York Road in Cockeysville at 10:30 a.m. on July 5 and ordered the bank's employees onto the floor. One man, who was armed with a handgun, jumped the counter and took money from the cash drawers, police spokeswoman Cpl. Cathy Batton said.

The pair fled in a small gold vehicle, police said, and Arnold Russell Threet, 49, of the 2600 block of East Monument Street in Baltimore, was arrested nearby, police said.

According to online court records, Threet was charged with two counts of armed robbery, four counts of first-degree assault, and theft, among other charges.

The second man has not been arrested, and the money was not recovered, police said.
