Human remains found at CCBC campus in Catonsville

The Baltimore County Police Department said Thursday afternoon that it is investigating human remains found in a wooded area on the Catonsville campus of the Community College of Baltimore County.

Police were dispatched at 12:38 p.m. Thursday to an area near the campus' South Rolling Road entrance, where surveyors working nearby had discovered the remains, said police spokesman Cpl. John Wachter.

The body will be taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where an autopsy will be performed, according to a release from county police. It has not been determined how long the body had been in the spot, the release said.

Wachter said detectives at the scene determined that the remains are not those of Timothy Getka, an Arbutus man who has been missing since he was last seen in the Catonsville area earlier this week.

The investigation is ongoing, Wachter said. Anyone with information is asked to call 410-307-2020.
