Dallas Dance to field questions from students at meeting

The Baltimore County public school system will hold two student town hall meetings in Lansdowne where students and teachers will have the opportunity to voice views on education and school-related topics of their choice, according to a press release issued Thursday by Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS).

Participants will ask BCPS Superintendent Dr. Dallas Dance unscripted and unedited questions, the release said.

The forum gives Dance the opportunity to "learn from students and educators about how best to address specific school concerns, needs and issues," the release said.

Students from the western portion of the school system are invited to participate, according to the release.

A high school student town hall will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 18 at Lansdowne High School, located at 3800 Hollins Ferry Road.

A middle school town hall follows at noon at the high school, the press release said.

A teacher town hall will also be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17 at Milford Mill Academy located at 3800 Washington Avenue.

In April, similar meetings will be held with students from the eastern half of the county at Eastern Technical High School in Essex. A spring teacher town hall is scheduled for May, the release said.
