Two people were seriously injured Thursday morning when they were ejected from a vehicle during a car crash at the 4500 block of Washington Boulevard in Halethorpe, said Baltimore County Police spokesman Cpl. John Wachter.
At around 11:12 a.m. a 2003 Mazda 6 was traveling northbound on Washington Boulevard approaching Halethorpe Farms Road, as a 2013 Hyundai Elantra was traveling westbound on Halethorpe Farms Road and was crossing over Washington Boulevard to continue west on Selma Avenue, police said.
The Mazda struck the Hyundai on the front driver's side, continued north and hit a utility pole in front of Baltimore County Fire Department Station 5, police said.
Police said the driver and passenger of the Mazda 6 were ejected and taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Elantra was treated for pain at the fire station, police said.
Police identified the driver of the Mazda 6 as 29-year-old Jason Langeluttig of the 500 block of Crain Highway in Glen Burnie. The passenger in the Mazda 6 was identified as 25-year-old Ashley Emery of the 700 block of Baylor Road in Glen Burnie, police said.
The Baltimore County Police Department Crash Team is investigating the incident. They will present their findings to the county State's Attorney's Office, who will determine if any charges are to be filed, police said.
