Although the Ravens didn't win the Super Bowl this year, a youth football team from Arbutus did.
The Arbutus Golden Eagles 6-8 age group Centennial Football Team won the Mid Maryland Youth Football and Cheerleading League's 2014 Super Bowl.
The champs defeated Reisterstown at Blandair Park in Columbia to win the title and cap an undefeated season.
Monday night, their accomplishment was recognized by the Baltimore County Council for their status as 2014 Super Bowl undefeated champions.
"Everyone wants to win the Super Bowl," said Larry Chambers, head coach of the 24-player team. "Not only did we win the Super Bowl, but we were undefeated."
Chambers, assistant coaches, and brothers, Mark Nordeck and Drew Nordeck, athletic director Tom Arnold and the 24 team members were presented with a resolution by 1st District Councilman Tom Quirk, who represents Arbutus, Catonsville and Lansdowne.
"Each one of you can put this up on your wall for winning the Super Bowl to make up for the Ravens not winning the Super Bowl," Quirk joked before the packed room, full of the football players and their families.
Chambers, 42, a Lansdowne resident, said this is his first time coaching a team who has won the Super Bowl.
"It was a great feeling, but it was scary at the same time," said Chambers, whose three sons have all been in the league. " I kept wondering if the next team would be the team to end our [unbeaten] streak."
The Arbutus Golden Eagles are part of the Arbutus Athletic Association, established in 1926, according to information on their website. Boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 14 play August through November.
The season marks the team's last in the Mid Maryland league. The local program will switch back to the Carroll County Football League for the 2015 season, Arnold said.
"I love everything about this," said Arnold, who has been part of the league for 24 years. "I do it for the kids."
