Vacant building fire near Patapsco Valley State Park is undetermined, fire officials say

Fire crews from Baltimore and Howard counties responded to a two-alarm fire over the weekend at an abandoned house on S. Hilltop and River roads, along Patapsco Valley State Park.

Elise Armacost, a spokeswoman for the Baltimore County Fire Department, said authorities were notified at 3:23 p.m. on Saturday.

The fire was extinguished and no injuries were reported. The entire structure collapsed and officials were unable to do a complete examination of the site, according to Armacost.

Fire investigators with the Baltimore County Police Department were dispatched to the scene on Saturday afternoon.

“Their investigation is concluded and the cause of the fire will remain undetermined,” Armacost said.
