Baltimore County police investigating woman found dead in Pikesville hotel as homicide

A Baltimore woman whose body was found by police in a Pikesville hotel Sunday morning has been identified and the death is being investigated as a homicide, Baltimore County police said Monday.

Around 7 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to a call of a sick or injured person and found the body of 43-year-old Lashawnda Saran Sanders, of West Baltimore’s Easterwood neighborhood, with signs of trauma in a second-floor room at the Howard Johnson by Wyndham in the 400 block of Reisterstown Road.

Sanders was pronounced dead at the scene by medics, police said.

Police are asking for the public’s help as officers investigate the cause and manner of Sanders’ death. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 410-307-2020. People can also leave tips anonymously at 1-866-7LOCKUP.

Anyone with information that leads to an arrest could receive up to $2,000 in rewards.
