Raised crosswalk coming near Pleasant Plains Elementary School in Towson aimed at improving safety

Baltimore County Councilman David Marks recently announced plans for construction of a raised crosswalk near Pleasant Plains Elementary School in Towson to enhance pedestrian safety.

The county will be constructing the crosswalk at Putty Hill Avenue and Drumwood Road, according to Marks. The crosswalk should improve pedestrian travel along a heavily traveled corridor, he said.

“I think the idea is that the crosswalk will be for students, but it would also slow down traffic all the other times of the day,” he said.

The project is expected to be completed before the end of the year, costing about $15,000, he said.

“I would like to thank the Department of Public Works for once again working to improve safety near our schools,” Marks said.
