On July 28, Baltimore County police were called just after 7 p.m. to the 2000 block of Kelbourne Road, where they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body.

Police said the men were transported to an area hospitals. Trevor Hamlet, 31, of Rosedale died at the hospital, police said, and the other man survived his injuries.

Police did not give a motive for shooting, but said they believe the incident was targeted and isolated. Detectives said they believe the men arrived home when an unknown suspect shot them and fled the parking lot.

Brooks has retained Baltimore attorney Creston Smith, according to online court records. Smith could not be reached Thursday for comment.

Maple remains held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center, and Brooks is awaiting a bail review, police said.
