It was a happy homecoming for a pair of Catonsville brothers playing lacrosse for Mount St. Joseph as Johnny and Austin Norton combined for five goals and two assists to lead the Gaels (4-3) to a 16-3 triumph over host Catonsville High.
Senior Johnny Norton, who will play at Wagner University next year, had two goals and an assist, while Austin, a junior, added three goals and an assist.
The senior Norton's assist came in the second half when he fed his brother on the crease.
Drew Harrison, a University of Maryland recruit, had four goals and an assist and Shawn Carter, who will play at Mercer University next season, had a goal and three assists for the Gaels.
Also scoring for St. Joe was Jake Brothers, Nick Willertz, David Burke and Ryan McHugh.
Catonsville (1-1), coming off a 14-5 victory over Parkville, got single goals from Thomas Garrett, Sam Jaudon and Luke Palmisano and assists from Jaiden Ruppert and Ray Rada.
The game was played six days after it was postponed for inclement weather.
Catonsville will try to get on the winning track on March 30 at Loch Raven, before returning home April 1 against Eastern Tech.
St. Joe's next contest is on the road at John Carroll on March 31. They return home on April 2 against Good Counsel.
