At 6:53 a.m. Baltimore County fire crews responded to a house fire in the 500 block of Bathhurst Road in Catonsville.

"It apparently started in the attic," said Louise Rogers-Feher, a county fire spokeswoman. "There was damage to the home, to the dwelling, but it was put out quickly."

The fire was quickly extinguished and no one was injured in the blaze, she said. However, Rogers-Feher said there was enough damage to the residence that the residents were displaced.

"The [American] Red Cross is taking care of them," she said.

This is the second house fire in Catonsville this week. The first took place shortly before noon Wednesday in the 1900 block of Oak Lodge Road, a half-mile away from today's fire.

That fire is still under investigation but Rogers-Feher said Friday that there is no reason to believe the two are linked.

"They're apples and oranges almost," she said of the two incidents. "I wouldn't even try to connect the dots on that.

"These things happen unfortunately," she said.
