A man was injured after being struck in the head during a fight that broke out in the Westowne community of Catonsville Tuesday night, according to a statement Wednesday by Baltimore County Police spokesman Cpl. John Wachter.
At 9:45 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 300 block of Westowne Road, finding a man with a head injury, Wachter said. The man was transported to an area hospital for unknown injuries, Wachter said.
An initial police investigation found the victim and neighbors confronted a group of teenage males that had been looking into his garage and backyard, Wachter said. A fight broke out when they confronted the group, and the man was struck in the head with an object, he said.
A witness told police a member of the group pulled out a gun that looked fake, Wachter said. Another witness said he saw a member of the group point a gun at those who confronted them, he said.
Police could not provide details about the victim's condition, but said he is expected to survive.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Wilkens Precinct at 410-887-0872.
