A 67-year-old Baltimore man has been charged with rape, sexual assault and using a firearm to commit a felony after police say he used a gun to sexually assault a teenager in Lochearn in late June.
Baltimore County Police arrested Gregory Hightower, of the 1600 block of Poplar Grove Street, for sexually assaulting a teenager.
The girl exited an MTA bus in the 1900 block of Woodlawn Drive around 11:30 p.m. on June 27, according to police. Hightower, who was also a passenger on the bus, followed her and offered to walk her through a wooded area to Kincheloe Avenue, police said.
As they approached the wooded area, Hightower pulled a gun and pointed it at the teenager, then forced her to the ground and sexually assaulted her, according to law enforcement. Hightower threatened to kill her before fleeing the scene, police said.
Several tips from the public helped police identify Hightower. He is charged with first-degree rape, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and firearm use to commit a felony-violent crime.
Hightower is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center awaiting a bail review.
