'Big Love' on stage at Dulaney High School, Nov. 17-19

Dulaney High School, 255 E. Padonia Road, is presenting an updated twist on a Greek classic with its fall production of the dark comedy, "Big Love," by Charles Mee.

The show, under the guidance of theater and artistic director Elizabeth Garrott, follows the emotional journey of 50 runaway brides and their determined suitors. The show explores the freedoms and entrapments of love, and is considered appropriate for a high school audience.

"Big Love" will be performed in the Dulaney High School auditorium Thursday-Saturday, Nov. 17, 18, 19, at 7:30 p.m. each night. Tickets are $10 at the door.

Cromwell Valley opens doors to prospective students

Parents of prospective or interested future students at Cromwell Valley Elementary Regional Magnet School of Technology, 825 Providence Road, Towson, are invited to hear a presentation about the school and its magnet program in two session on Wednesday, Nov. 16, at from either 2 to 3 p.m. or 7 to 8 p.m.

Following the presentation, visitors can take a tour of the school led by student guides.

County teams gather for VEX Robotics tournament

More than 75 teams — including groups from Ridgely Middle School and Towson, Loch Raven and Dulaney high schools, are expected to participate in the Baltimore County Public Schools VEX Robotics Competition County Tournament, to be held Saturday, Nov. 18, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Maryland State Fairgrounds, 2200 York Road, Timonium.

VEX Robotics offers middle school, high school, and university students a way to learn more about science, technology, engineering and math while practicing teamwork, leadership and problem solving.
