Baltimore Co. water main break to cut service to dozens

Baltimore City Public Works crews are planning to shut off water temporarily to several dozen households Tuesday in Baltimore County so they can fix a six-inch water main in Overlea.

Kurt Kocher, Public Works spokesman, said the water main break near Willowdale and Dale avenues was discovered Monday night. He said workers will not know exactly how many households will lose water service until an inspector determines the extent of the problem, but he estimated it would be no more than 30 judging by the size of the water main.

Water had not been turned off as of 8 a.m. Tuesday.

A broken water main at Kenwood and Glenmore avenues was repaired overnight, Kocher added.
