Arbutus Fire-rescue Log

Among the 86 calls the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department received for medical and fire-rescue service Aug. 28 to Sept. 4 were the following:

Regina Drive, 900 block, 9:19 a.m. Sept. 3. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Halethorpe career station responded to the report of an unconscious person in Arbutus and found the person dead.

East Drive at Linden Avenue, 11:16 p.m. Sept. 2. Crews responded to the report of a water main break in Arbutus and controlled the hazard until utility crews arrived.

Rittenhouse Avenue, 1700 block, 4:52 p.m. Sept. 2. Crews from the Arbutus, English Consul, Lansdowne and Violetville volunteer stations and Halethorpe and Catonsville career stations responded to the report of a fire in a residence in Halethorpe and extinguished a kitchen fire.

University of Maryland, Baltimore County campus, 1000 Hilltop Circle, 4:45 p.m. Aug. 30. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Catonsville career station responded to the report of people trapped in an elevator and rescued 10 people in the elevator.

Arbutus Avenue, 5200 block, 7:29 p.m. Aug. 28. Crews responded to the report of a person injured after a fall in Arbutus and transported one seriously injured person to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
