Tractor-trailer driver killed in accident in Dundalk

The driver of a tractor-trailer was killed Tuesday morning in an accident in Dundalk, Baltimore County police said.

The accident occurred just before 5 a.m., when the tractor-trailer left the road and crashed into a sign, a mailbox and four cars in a parking lot in the 3800 block of North Point Blvd., police spokeswoman Detective Cathy Batton said. The truck driver was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, Batton said. He was identified as Larry George Foster, 51, of Richmond, Va.

According to Batton, the other cars involved in the crash were unattended, and no one else was injured. She said police are still investigating why the driver lost control of his truck. North Point Boulevard was closed in both directions for hours after the accident.
