After losing its first game of the season, Catonsville reel off 12 straight victories in the MYLA league.
Head coach Bob Krabbe's squad was anchored by a stellar defense that included longsticks Chris Krabbe, Jake Bredeck, Patrick O'Ferrall and Tommy Sadler, backed by goalie Ben Ames.
The coach also praised the hard work and endless energy of midfielders Brenden Wrisk, Dan Nicholaus, Bryce Thurston, Nick Willertz, Connor Hurd, Brian Holmes and Liam Stewart.
Wrisk and Nicholaus played outstanding topside defense while Thurston and Willertz were potent offensive weapons.
Hurd, Holmes and Stewart won a majority of the faceoffs and cleared the ball with outstanding speed and athleticism.
Attackmen Johnny Norton, Brett Altenburg and David Brand scored frequently and were also good feeders.
One of the highlight wins was a 9-8 overtime triumph over Cobra after trailing by five goals in the third quarter.
The team also traveled to Hereford with one substitute and finished with an empty bench and a thrilling 5-4 victory after Thurston scored the game-winning goal with 30 seconds left.
Several of the players have been together since age five for coaches Krabbe and assistants Matt Ames and Sean O'Ferrall.
"Mount Saint Joseph and Catonsville High will be getting a very talented group of freshmen next year," Krabbe said.
