Arbutus Fire-Rescue Log

Among the 85 calls for medical and fire-rescue service the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department received June 2-9 were:

Interstate 70 eastbound between exits 87-90, 9:01 a.m. June 7. Crews from the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department and Catonsville and Westview career stations responded to the report of an accident in Westview. Three seriously injured people rescued from the vehicle and transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Sulphur Spring Road, 1200 block, 8:46 a.m. June 3. Crews responded to the report of a cardiac arrest in Arbutus and transported a seriously ill person to a local hospital.

1000 Hilltop Circle, 8:46 p.m. June 2. Crews from the Arbutus, Lansdowne and Violetville volunteer stations and Catonsville, Halethorpe, Sparrows Point and Westview career stations responded to the report of a building fire on the campus of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. A transformer explosion with fire was extinguished.

Sulphur Spring Road, 1500 block, 3:30 p.m. June 2. Crews responded to the report of a brush fire in Arbutus and extinguished the fire.

Route 166 between exits A and B, 2:12 p.m. June 2. Crews from the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department and Catonsville career station responded to the report of an accident in Arbutus. One critically injured person transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
