A light rain led to a string of highway accidents that caused minor injuries and traffic delays Saturday morning, a Maryland State Police spokesman said.
"Ramps are slippery and people think they can take them like a normal dry day," said State Police Cpl. Tom Heath.
Two of the accidents took place between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. on Interstate 83. A Ford Crown Victoria and a Toyota Tacoma heading southbound on I-83 at Old Pimlico Road collided about 8 a.m. Two people were transported to Sinai Hospital with injuries that were considered non-life threatening, Heath said.
About an hour later, two tractor-trailers southbound on I-83 just south of the Pennsylvania line collided. One of the drivers suffered minor injuries, Heath said.
It was not immediately clear if the driver was transported to a hospital.
