Randallstown crash victim identified

Baltimore County police identified the driver killed in a two-vehicle crash in Randallstown Wednesday night.

Carrol Owens, 45, of Owings Mills was driving a 2000 Nissan Maxima at about 10:40 p.m., headed south on Scotts Level Road, when he collided with a 2004 Jeep Cherokee, driven by a 24-year-old woman who was heading west on Old Court Road, department spokeswoman Detective Cathy Batton said.

Owens was taken to Northwest Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. Three passengers were riding in the Jeep, which police said they believed had driven through a red light. One passenger was riding in the Maxima.

Two other crash victims were taken to Northwest and a third was taken to Sinai Hospital, police said, adding that the others' injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

Batton said the accident was still under investigation and charges were pending.
