An Owings Mills man charged in a Thursday bank robbery turned himself in after he realized he was being followed by a witness to the robbery, Baltimore County Police said Friday.
Police say a man held a knife to an M&T Bank employee's neck and demanded money, then fled from the bank in the 7600 block of Belair Road with an undisclosed amount of money in a small silver car.
Lt. Robert McCullough said a witness to the robbery followed the car into the city, but lost it on Interstate 95. However, the witness was able to give detectives the license plate number on the car.
McCullough said John Martin Lynch, 51, of Matinee Court, turned himself into the Parkville Precinct several hours later, and now faces first- and second-degree assault and armed robbery charges.
Lynch is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center, police said.
