Up to 100 northeast Baltimore homes are out of water service after a repaired water main began to leak again on Harford Road, a Baltimore public works spokesman said.
County workers noticed the leak, in the 9900 block of Harford Road, when they began to pave over the repaired 12-inch main, said city DPW spokesman Kurt Kocher.
"We have to go in there and try to figure out what is going on at that particular location," he said.
A 24-inch main runs parallel to the 12-inch one, and they connect at Summit Avenue via five or six valves, Kocher said.
All lanes of Harford Road will be closed in both directions between Joppa Road and Summit Avenue at about 6 p.m. for additional repairs, he said.
The spokesman could not estimate how long the repairs would take. Some customers will also experience low water pressure, he said.
