A 25-year-old man accidentally shot himself in the foot in Reisterstown Wednesday morning, according to Baltimore County Police.

The man was shot at 5:13 a.m. at Nicodemus Road near Whispering Oaks Court, police said.

He was taken to Northwest Medical Center for treatment.

Preliminary reports suggested the man may have been hunting, but further investigation indicates that is not the case, according to a county police spokesman.
