Parkville man sentenced to 30 years for child pornography

A Parkville man who had more than 750 images of child pornography on his computer was sentenced to 30 years in prison Tuesday for taking naked pictures of a 12-year-old who was learning disabled and a 14-year-old autistic girl, officials said.

Jaroy Emory Gilmer, 29, received the sentence, followed by lifetime supervised release, in U.S. District Court in Baltimore for two counts of production of child pornography and distribution of child pornography.

Police first began investigating Gilmer after an FBI agent in Illinois downloaded 23 images of child pornography from a file-sharing program on Gilmer's computer during an undercover investigation, according to Gilmer's plea agreement.

As a result of the investigation, FBI agents searched Gilmer's home and seized his computer, revealing hundreds of images and 20 videos of child pornography, including prepubescent children, toddlers and sadistic images of bondage, as well as sexually explicit pictures of the two girls.

The 12-year-old learning-disabled girl told police that Gilmer, who had supervisory custody of her, had taken pictures of her naked, according to the plea. Gilmer admitted taking sexually explicit pictures of a 14-year-old autistic girl, of whom he also had supervisory custody or control, the plea said.

Gilmer has been in custody since his arrest May 19, 2009, and still faces related state charges.
