Information sought in Dundalk tavern owner's death

Baltimore County Police are asking the public for information about the fatal shooting of a Dundalk tavern owner early Saturday morning.

Robert Lee Martin, 43, was leaving Hop's Inn in the 7000 block of Railway Avenue after locking up at about 2:22 a.m. when he was confronted outside by two men, said Lt. Robert McCullough, a spokesman for Baltimore County Police.

Martin was shot multiple times in the upper body, the spokesman said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Baltimore County Police at 410-307-2020 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 866-7-LOCKUP, he said.

Thus far in 2010, Baltimore County has had nine homicides, McCullough said. The county had had 15 homicides during the same time period in 2009, he said.
