The repaving of a two-mile stretch of McCormick Road in Hunt Valley is the first of 18 road improvement projects in Baltimore County to be funded with federal stimulus money.

County officials announced the two-year program on Wednesday. They designated at least two projects in each county council district.

Set for repaving are McCormick Road from York Road to Beaver Dam Road in Hunt Valley; Westchester and Dogwood roads in Catonsville; Sugarcone Road and Greenspring and Gwynnbrook avenues in the north central area of the county; Freeland and Graystone roads in the northern area; Dogwood Road and St. Lukes Lane in Randallstown; Fairmount Avenue in Towson; Hillsway in Parkville; Hazelwood Avenue, Lillian Holt Drive and Wilson Point Road in the northeast area and Holabird Avenue, Merritt Boulevard and Stemmers Run Road in the eastern area.
