Police capture one of 2 juveniles in escape from Hickey school

Baltimore County and Maryland State Police were still searching for one of two juveniles who escaped Sunday night from the Charles H. Hickey Jr. School.

State police apprehended one of the 17-year-old escapees at 2 a.m. Monday at the Royal Farms on Joppa Road at Old Harford Road, said Trooper Joshua Hooper of the Maryland State Police Golden Ring Barracks.

The juveniles were reported missing from the Baltimore County detention facility at about 8:45 p.m., and authorities believe they escaped about 20 minutes before then by climbing a fence, according to state police Cpl. David Hooper.

Neither juvenile was considered dangerous, he said. Police declined to release the identities of the escapees.
