Police search for armed bank robber

Police are trying to identify a man responsible at least five Baltimore County bank robberies during the past year and a half, including a robbery Monday in Middle River.

He is described as a black male, between 25 and 35 years old, 5 foot 5 to 5 foot 8, between 140 and 180 pounds, according to a police news release. He has a dark complexion and has worn a woman's wig in some of the robberies, police said.

At each bank, he walked up and pointed a gun at the tellers, jumped the counters and demanded money, police said. Each teller gave him an undisclosed amount of cash, police said. He then ran out of the bank.

Police believe he is responsible for robberies at the following locations:

1st Mariner Bank,100 block of Carroll Island Road in Middle River on April 26

— M&T Bank in the 11300 block of York Road in Cockeysville on Feb. 18

— Wachovia Bank in the 8500 block of Liberty Road in Randallstown on May 7, 2009

— 1st Mariner Bank in the 4800 block of Painters Mill Road in Owings Mills on April 4, 2009
