Baltimore County police have identified the man fatally struck Tuesday night while trying to cross Route 40.

Asad Husain, 46, of the 15000 block of Frederick Road in Woodbine, was pronounced dead at the scene after he was hit by a 2000 Buick LeSabre driven by Stephen Rogers. Rogers, 28, of the 2600 block of Lauretta Ave. in Baltimore, is not expected to face criminal charges, according to police.

The accident happened near Coleridge Road about 7 p.m.

A preliminary investigation showed that the victim stepped off the curb and into the eastbound lanes, according to police. Rogers was unable to avoid hitting Husain, and police have ruled the cause as pedestrian error.
