Man critically injured in attack outside bar

A 29-year-old man remained in critical condition Wednesday at Maryland Shock Trauma Center after being assaulted over the weekend outside a Baltimore County bar.

Police officers from the Woodlawn precinct who responded to a call about an assault outside the Corinthian Lounge & Restaurant early Saturday found the victim suffering from severe head wounds, according to a statement issued Wednesday by the department.

Detectives said that two suspects may have followed the man out of the bar on the 7100 block of Windsor Mill Road and beaten him. No motive has been determined for the attack.

There has been trouble at the Corinthian in the past. In November 2004, a 29-year-old man who was about to enter his car after leaving the bar shortly after midnight was accosted by two men, one of them with a handgun, and shoved into his vehicle. The victim told police that he was ordered to drive to a bank on Ambassador Road and forced to withdraw $400 from an ATM. The men rode off in the victim's car, which was found later in front of the tavern.

Police are asking for help in identifying the two suspects in Saturday's attack. Anyone with information is asked to call Baltimore County police at 410-307-2020 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-756-2587.
