Three Baltimore youths were arrested Monday and charged with attempted robbery of a teenager at a gas station in Linthicum, according to Anne Arundel County police.

Police said the three approached a 14-year-old boy around 4:50 p.m. outside a BP gas station in the 6800 block of Baltimore- Annapolis Boulevard and demanded that he give them his cash and cell phone. Police said one of the youths implied that he had a handgun. The victim did not give them anything and ran away, police said. The other boys also ran, police said.

Officers stopped three youths nearby, ages 12, 13 and 14, who were then identified by the victim as the would-be robbers, police said. They were charged with attempted robbery and attempted theft and released to their parents, according to police.

No weapon was recovered, police said.
