A 14-year-old Woodlawn boy who was being sought for shooting another boy on New Year's Eve is in custody.
Tymaine D'Aren Sellman turned himself in at the Baltimore County Police Department's Woodlawn precinct on Friday night, but the department delayed the announcement until Tuesday. He has been charged as an adult with attempted first-degree murder, and is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
Sellman was wanted in connection with the shooting of a 13-year-old at Woodlawn Drive and Linus Road on Dec. 31. Police said they knew of no motive for the incident.
After the shooting, police reached out to the public in their search for Sellman, who lives on Senta Court in Woodlawn. Investigators believed that he was evading capture somewhere in southwestern Baltimore City.
The initial call about the shooting came shortly after 4 p.m. on New Year's Eve. When officers arrived they found the younger boy suffering from several gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was treated and later released.
