Pedestrian struck and killed on I-95 in Baltimore County

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car in Baltimore County Monday night when he walked out onto Interstate 95 just north of the beltway, State Police said Tuesday.

Troopers were called at 9:16 p.m. to the scene in Baltimore County, where the man, who has not been identified, was hit by a silver 2009 Toyota Prius, police said.

The driver of the Prius was not hurt. Police said they did not know why the man walked into the street.

The northbound lanes of the interstate were shut down for about 2.5 hours during the investigation. Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information may call 410-780-2700.
